Potential Fix For The Piracy Problem

Watching CNN, they have a story on piracy counter measures. They are using "non-leathal" things like water going over the sides, directional audio, etc... They are installing "secure bridges"  training the crew on what to do and keeping war ships on station and more.

This is a real problem and people are taking it seriously but it is costing millions of dollars each month. It seems to be localized to a few hot spots around the globe.

What if in those hot spots, there were sniper teams that got on the boat in port. This could be part of their training and the shipping companies would be subsidizing that training.

If a small craft approaches a cargo ship, the sniper would take out their engine and radio in for a war ship to come and pick up the stranded pirates.

Once the cargo ship is out of dangerous water, the training could continue with a helicoptor picking them up and taking the teams back to port.

Just a thought.
